Poker discipline is a must.
By admin | December 29, 2007
Every now and then you might get an urge to play a hand you should not play or call a bet you should not call. If you want to win you need to be able to control these urges. Discipline will give you a huge edge over other players. Every day i take money from players who make certain decisions knowing that they may well lose a hand as a result.
Think logical and listen to your instincts. When you fold you are giving yourself another chance to make more money later. If you decide to pay off another player you might as well just throw your money away.
If you decide that playing tight is the best option on your table then stick to it. Be patient and be prepared to wait for a premium hand. I often see players running out of patience and playing hands that get them into trouble.
